Evil Spirits of Nyepi Eve on Bali

WARNING: Some of the following images are graphic and of a disturbing nature

We spent the day of Nyepi Eve, or New Years Eve, roaming the towns and villages of Bali, awing at the Ogoh-Ogoh, the large papier-mache effigies of evil demons that were to be paraded through the streets then burned at midnight. This was symbolic of killing off all the evil spirits and bad energy, so the citizens could live more peaceful and pure lives, free of evil spirits lurking around and causing harm to the villages and its people.
