About Us

Jess and James - ItsBohemian Travel
Jess and James – ItsBohemian Travel Team

This site is a collective chronicle of our travels. It’s about the people we meet, foods we eat – experiences and explorations that we capture to share through words, photography, and video. All the content on this site is original and was captured during our personal travels, unless otherwise specified. We encourage you to share what you like – Copyleft! – and give credit where credit is deserved. If you would like to contribute, get in touch with us.

We’re Couchsurfers, frequent flyers, digital enthusiasts, artists, and most importantly, free spirits. This site is ultimately about what else the world has to offer that can only be experienced by stepping off the conveyor belt and taking a look around. It’s a big earth, but a small world – as it spins, we hop around and hope to share what we find around us.

WHY ITSBOHEMIAN?

We try to live by the ideals of truth, beauty, freedom, love. The beautiful concepts in life, that we try to uncover with open, unbiased eyes. We lead an alternative lifestyle compared to most. We are nomads with minimal possessions, and rich hearts. We have a wide range of tastes in music, fashion, art, literature, and we are very creative people. Above all, we’re optimists. Cynical optimists in certain countries… We are laid back, relaxed, and easy to get along with. We just like the bohemian vibe. The free spirited nature. The anything goes mentality. We’ve discovered it’s easy to find like minded people along the way :)

Meet the Travelers:

Jess Renee

About Jess – free spirit and zen seeker. Culture and Art are some of my passions, so I travel to see more. My 3 treks around the world has certainly taught me some pretty worthy lessons.   My travels have  humbled me. It’s challenged me. Made me more aware, more tolerant, and more open to life around me.

I love to get off a plane and be thrust into culture shock. It’s a vibrant sensory overload that will always keep travel exciting. It’s comforting to find fellow kindred spirits in the world, in forms you never knew existed. I use this site in hopes of spread culture and inspiring people to live more passionately.

Learning new languages, navigate foreign streets, and experimenting with local foods, will continue to be a standard in my life, therefore I have adopted work practices conducive to strategy. I’m a Freelance Project Manager and part time artist. When I’m not traveling, Washington DC is my homebase but Austin, Texas is my hometown.
